Chailey’s specialization is replica silver aircraft - although he can create more or less anything in silver. With the help of a grant from The Prince’s Trust he set up his workshop in 1983, having studied at Sir John Cass College of Art and Kitson College, Leeds.

He has acted as a mentor/advisor for other local Trust recipients. A Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and the City of London, his carefully crafted pieces are considered modern classics by many and continue the long heritage of excellence within English silversmithing.

Having a lifelong interest in and enjoyment of aviation, Chailey has helped in the restoration of several vintage aircraft and is a BGA sailplane pilot.

Chailey’s creations are made personally by Chailey in his small workshop in Hertfordshire.
